“DO YOU KNOW how much trouble you’ve caused me?” he asked. “Your students have been wasting my time with complaints about their grades. What the hell were you thinking?”
She took another step backward into the closet.“You told me to make the class hard,” she said.
He followed her in and pulled the door closed behind him. Her heart pounded in her chest—from fear and from his proximity. He was tall and broad and had an animal magnetism that her body couldn’t ignore.
Her words were a whisper. “I did what you asked.”
“You did what I asked,” he repeated. He stood so close to her, closer than he ever had before, close enough that the fantasies she had about his attention suddenly seemed like a possibility, within easy reach. “Tell me, Professor Stevenson, do you always do what I ask?”
